Serendipity Scrapbooks August Kit!

This is my last month on Serendipity Scrapbooks Design Team. I have been on it for a year and am going to miss it BUT, Kristen has asked me to stay on the Events Coordinator. That means I am in charge of having fun at Serendipity Scrapbooks and I promise we will have a ball. This month I worked with the "I deserve it all kit"as always Kristen did an awesome job with these kits. I loved this kit so much that I used it all except for a few scraps left over. I created 4 layouts, a card and an Art board that I will be using for Sydney's art work. She needs something she is always taping pictures every where.

The next crop at Serendipity will me the last weekend in August which is the 21st and the pre crops will start the 14th. We have some great things planned so clear your weekend and tie up the kids so you can come play. I will post more about this when I can...

I want to take a minute and say thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers said for me and my family. This is going to be the hardest thing I have ever went through so bare with me if I go missing. I am just taking care of things that need to be done and spending as much time as I can with my momma. Thanks for stopping by!

The Calm before the Storm....

I should have known that things were going to smoothly to actually let myself believe that my mom had finally beat cancer because all of us know that cancer fights dirty.

In my previous post you know that my mom has been fighting cancer and has already underwent 2 surgeries this year and lots of hospitalizations and complications. She was finally over 100lbs and we were ready to do the last surgery which was her lung. The doctor wanted her rescanned so he knew exactly where and how big before he went into remove it. Then we got the scan back....it showed possible growth in the brain. The doctor wasn't sure if it was in the brain or left over from her larynx. They did an MRI last Friday.

Yesterday we went to the doctor to find out what the MRI said....My mom not only has one spot on here brain she has two. She has one in her left Cerebellum and one in the cerebrum. The doctor said her only option now is radiation that will hopefully shrink it but there is no way to remove it.

As you can guess there was lots of tears. Me and my oldest sister were able to hold it together while mom feel apart. I have never seen my mother cry like this and it was all I could do to keep myself from crumbling right in front of her.

Our baby sister didn't do so well which was expected, she just lost her dad in Feb. and now momma, She is just mad at the world and I am so worried at what she will do to herself when mom is gone but at the moment I just don't have the strength to try and save her from herself again. I need to deal with my pain and figure out how to explain this to my children. I have no idea how to do it!

Okay, I am going to stop before I get all of you crying with me!
Thank you all so much for visiting my blog and don't leave things left unsaid!

So much to share!

I can not believe its been this long since I have blogged. I have been staying busy and have so much to to share. A few weekends ago Jason took me and the kids to Atlanta overnight. We took the kids to Medieval Times and they had so much fun. Sydney has found a new love and has decided she is going to be a Knight. Before we headed home Jason took me to IKEA to get the bookshelf I have been wanting for my scrap room. This was our first trip to Ikea and wow I could spend all day there. They have storage for everything. Next time we go it will be without kids and we will take Jason's Blazer so we can get more stuff. Here is my Beautiful Book Shelf! I need more baskets for it but this works for now!Now lets talk Pink Paislee, I have been in love with their products since there first line. So when I saw they had a warehouse sale I jumped on it. You payed $45.00 and got something like $150.00 worth of products. I have never bought a box of just stuff that you didn't know what you were getting but since I knew I would love anything they sent I went for it. I am so happy I did!!!! I received a box full of goodies, 45 Sheets pattern Paper, 10 speciality sheets, 2 things of ribbons, brads, and chipboard, 2 stamp sets, 6 Letter sticker sheets and 6 sets or rub ons and none of these the same. If you look at the pictures the sheet on top is from their new Valentine line, Yummy!!!Since I got all this amazing stuff I had to play with it a little, So here is my first layout out of my Goodies! This is one of my favorites so far I think. I love how it all matches so well. Also Jason has been gone a lot and now he is in Brazil and what other way to pass the time then scrap. I have been having so much fun! I have done Several layouts but I am only going to share a few and then I will share more later.

This Layout is of Kristin, We were goofing off on the boat when I snapped this picture. It would be perfect for a Frito's Ad.
These other 2 I did for an online crop this weekend at Life Preservers. They had some great challenges but there was no way I was going to get them all done so I took my time and had fun with the ones I got to.

This is my Sydney being her wonderful self. This was taken at my nephews birthday party. They had put cokes and ice in a big pool so Sydney decided to go Bobbing for cokes while Daddy sits there and watches her. I walked up and this is what I saw. It was just luck I had my Camera in hand. This one is of the kids jumping on the Trampoline at Pa's house. Okay I am done for now. I think I have typed enough. Thank You so much for stopping by!!!!

Happy 4th Everyone!

What a beautiful day it is to celebrate the 4th. I hope all of you are enjoying the day with your friends and families. We are going to Jason's Aunt and Uncles house as we do every year. We have a cook out then lay a quilt out on their front lawn and watch the towns big fire work show. We don't do our own because exploding things and my kids don't mix well.

I have been very busy over at Serendipity Scrapbooks hosting the Last Serendipity Scrapper Standing. It has been so much fun and the ladies in the challenge have blown me away with their scrapping skills. This is one reason among many that I have not been able to post this months Serendipity Alter Kit. This Kit is so girly and it was perfect for me since I have mostly girls in my family. I created the Mini album for my niece Jessica because it was just to perfect for her. The title through out the album says,"Don't hate me because I am Beautiful" and if you know Jessica this fits her to a "T".
You have to admit that the Boa and that big Butterfly are just adorable. Even my cat Gypsy likes the boa, I had to keep chasing her down to get it away from her.
I also created 2 Layouts, 2 cards and a small gift bag. Here are the layouts and the bag, I will share the cards later.
This Layout is of my little sister when she did Dance. The paper was just perfect for these pictures. The swirl below the pictures is a transparency that came in the kit. I covered it with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and then added Diamond glaze. This is now one of my favorite Techniques. I did a picture frame this way also, and I will share that later also.

Thanks for stopping by and please have a safe and fun 4th.

Serendipity May Kit Peek!

Before I give you a little peek I want to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers you have said for my mother and me. I have always said scrappers are the kindest people I have ever met and you all proved it once again. My mother is feeling better and has made a really fast recovery so far. Yesterday when I was up there with her its the most I have seen her smile in a long time. Hopefully she will get to come home in the morning.

Now for the peeks. I designed with the "May Just Enough Kit" and trust me there is plenty in this kit to play for awhile! Kristen has just packed these kits full of yummy-ness. The peeks just give you a taste of whats really in the kit. So enjoy and when you are done head over to Serendipity to get yours ordered before they ship! I am sure these will not last long.

I hope you like these very small but yummy peeks. I will share the full pictures and other creations on the first so make sure to stop back by to see it all. Have a great day!
